Get what you pay for
This pod is bare bones and inexpensive. It is very compact and comes in a rugged case. The pod is very light weight and unless I bang it into the ground, it does not stand up to a hard take. Although, it has not fallen over. It leans and shifts about a bit. It is very difficult to get the rod pointed up much more than a few inches. Fishing off a weedy bank it was almost impossible to keep the line out of the weeds.
It would be great if additional bank sticks were available in different lengths. The bank stick diameter is not standard and I have not been able to find longer sticks that would work. I guess the leg locking mechanism is both good and bad. I like that they lock with a lever bar that applies enough tension that the legs do not turn, but it also makes it necessary to find replacement sticks with the exact same diameter.
I thought I would get through the season with this pod and buy a better pod next year, but that has not worked for me.
I get that this pod is under US$50. and I took my chances, but my bet did not pay off.
