Compelling
Kept me interested and quite a page turner. All the action takes place over 24 hours. I enjoyed it.

A page turner
1 of 1 found this helpful A very good book in narrative, characterisation and language. It kept my interest all the way through. I loved the observation and the way events were seen through a child's eyes and how all things including the motivations of the adults were not black and white. It was our book club's choice and those i've spoken to loved it too. An excellent and surprising first novel.

Interesting if you know the area
This was our book club read for the month, suggested by a member who has a holiday home in the area. It's accurate on the locality and the author knows about rock climbing. I found it a bit heavy on dialogue with less narrative and I couldn't really empathise with the characters. It could be a good holiday read though.
