Huge scale model of the German Type IXC U-boat (i.e. U-505)
This famous WW2 German U-boat, permanently memorialised at the Chicago Museum of Science & Industry, is an excellent representation of this particular and important submersible. Revell (Germany) has seemingly taken upon itself the task of presenting important U-boat types in accurate scale model form. Now that bitter memories of WW2 are diminishing a bit, it is becoming less inflammatory to highlight in this manner the superior German science & technological expertise that served as the foundation of Germany's war efforts. 1/72nd scale is ambitious by anyone's standards and this IXC boat joins Revell's VIIC offering in that extra large size. Now all we need is a 1/72nd scale of the other truly important WW2 development, the XXI 'Elektroboot' that served as the inspiration and starting point for all post-war US and USSR developments! When can we expect THAT, Revell? As long as we're on it, a 1/72nd scale version of the early war Type IIA/B/C 'Canoe' coastal boat would be an excellent idea, as well! Expensive model kit, but well worth the satisfaction it provides for true submarine buffs & underseas warfare specialists!

The single best book available on the 'Old West'
One of the single best and most authoritative books ever, on the American 'Old West. This book should be basic reading for anyone developing an interest in the history of the American frontier and the story of westward expansion. William C. Davis is an amazingly astute and enjoyable author. Couldn't put it down!
