Exorbitant price

This is my second tube after a necessary operation last month. Recommended for use my by my surgeon- necessary to get best results (facial scars), but not available on prescription! Why is it so expensive? If the same item was required to fix an object it would sell at around £5 On a plus note, it eases the tightness around the area that was stitched, I’m hoping it will continue to soften and fade the scars as claimed!
