Not worth the hassle
Start with the photo of the carrot spirals used on the box and advertising. You'll be lucky to get them from a carrot that narrow. There is a design problem, at the blade end there is a spindle which is too wide (it's a cutting tube). This means that the nearest spiral cutting blade is over half an inch from the centre and only fatter vegetables can reach it. Any less than 1 inch wide only touch the straight blade, you get some neat shavings and a tick stick form the centre. Attempts with small courgettes were not much better. So for narrow vegetables this is not much better than a coarse grater, which costs much less and is easier to clean.
Second issue shows lack of thought in production. The straight blade is VERY sharp, this is good. But someone decided to put warning labels on them - with very sticky glue which is hard to remove. They aren't dishwasher safe so you have to scrub by hand - and you can guess how that ends!
Third. The prongs at the handle end are plastic and don't seem very durable. I tried a celeriac (which did reach the sprial cutters!!) but this is tougher than carrots and the prongs were straining - so I ended up taking the handle off and holding the celeriac by hand.
Overall a lot of hassle for limited success.

Better than expected
Surprisingly powerful in high summer sun, even when a bit overcast. I've got it feeding a tube up about 18 inches to a spout and it pumps a good volume quite happily.
Lights are a bit tacky but can be left off.
Came with a set of rechargable AA batteries which I expected to have to buy.
Panel has a quality feel about it.
