NYC area tree identification
this is a tremendously practical book for identifying trees in new york city and surrounding area. it focuses on the trees that one would encounter while walking on the streets and in the parks of the city, so one is not wasting time going through superfluous entries.
it is organized very logically by leaf type, but it also has examples of winter shape and bark. each entry has a short essay pointing out salient features, lore, and variations. it also contains a list of locales for tree-spotting and a list of mapped-out “tree walks” in the parks of the five boroughs.
i had this book years ago, and had lost it, but i’m very glad to have another copy now.

read description carefully
i was expecting BOTH lights to be USB rechargeable, but only the headlight is. tail light uses batteries. i should have known, but did not read the description carefully enough, as battery specs (and batteries) are supplied for the tail light. other than that, product seems to be working fine in first week of use.
