Great real life examples, easy and simple vocabulary, and nice debriefing
It does not matter if you are a young adult or someone older who's looking into doing some research on the basics of psychology. This is a marvelous introductory book. It is especially good for teens who are thinking of taking a psychology course. The book has picture and diagrams which are extremely helpful to visual readers with easy and simple vocabulary. But the thing that i most like about this book is that it uses real life examples of people e.g. if you are interested in reading about Alzheimer's, this book will provide you with an example of a real man suffering from the disease which makes it even more interesting and fun to read. Do you remember ever getting ready to watch a scary or a disturbing documentary and just before the movie begins, your screen shows the words "Based on a true story." and instantly, just like that, your interest and focus increases. This book is just like that but unlike some movies and other things it will not leave your disappointed. The book covers introduction to a lot of important and mainstream branches in psychology. I personally like social psychology and I loved reading all the examples, the great definition and perfect debriefing of all the subjects that really makes you think. The only reason I am not giving it 5/5 is because I was not very satisfied with the exercise questions they've given at the end of every chapter. So, if you are someone who's thinking of learning all the abc of psychology or are just curious to learn something new and mind opening, this book is for you. I loved this book the moment I got it. This book made me realize my deep rooted passion of social psychology and helped me look at the world with a complete new perspective. -Sofia

You will lie in your bed for hours just thinking about this book.
Ah, Catching Fire. I'm trying to write a review but do I even have words for this magnificent, mind blowing book? You see books all over and almost every single book you read is New York's best seller, and you think to yourself "is every book ever made New York's Bestseller?". This book and the trilogy has received many great reviews and titles but are they all really true? Well, you get to decide that for yourself. All I can do is tell you about my long never ending tale with this book. I initially started reading The Hunger Games because all of a sudden everyone was into it and all my friends were screaming over Liam Hemsworth. I did not know what the big deal was. I put off reading the books at first but I gave into the peer pressure eventually. Oh my, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Catching Fire is a sequel to The Hunger Games and prequel to Mocking Jay, author Suzanne Collins. Catching Fire follows the devastation left by the annual 74th hunger games and how it effects everyone that is suffering from poverty and under the grip of President Snow (a dictator). But mostly it further follows the life of Katniss Everdeen, the main character, a young girl who volunteered herself as a tribute just so her sister won't have to suffer the horrible consequences of being chosen as a tribute and everything horrendous that follows when they leave their districts for The Capitol. This book is about corrupt government who wants everyone under their feet scared to look up. Government who will crush you like an ant under an elephant's foot. This book is about how media effects the world and our perspective just by being "professional", saying a few words and making little changes in every truth. In this book you will see Katniss trying to survive yet another hunger games but this time it will not just be another tributes from 12 districts. THIS TIME IT WILL BE THE VICTORS. The victors from all twelve districts will come together in one arena, and fight and kill to survive something so horrible that is never ending. In this book you will see the ant, Katniss, climb up inside of the elephant's trunk, President Snow, and bite him. In this book you will see the start of a rebellion. In this book you will wait, wait and wait for ant's poison to spread through inside of the elephants trunk. You'll see the elephants trunk swell, making him hard to breath and you will wait. oh, will you wait. Can a tiny little creature, so tiny that it's hard to see most of the times defeat a creature that is apparently known as the biggest land animal? - Sofia
