REview of Solar panel
Yes, this is a working solar panel and apparently new. However I bought 50 individual 6v solar panels in 1994 and the output was similar. So the technology has not moved on.
The previous solar panels had no terminals as such just contact pads and it was left to the ingenuity of the buyer to make connections, so this new panel is so much more usable having proper wired connectors. Also being in a rigid frame is good.
The output today (October) is 3 watts approx, not high so its only good to charge a battery.
I have not used the charge controller yet so can't comment on that -still at testing stage.
I also have a power inverter 600w capacity to step up to 230v A.C. so we have a standby mains power supply but only usable for lighting.
The panel is therefore insufficient for more than the above except on an exceptionally sunny day which we don't have many of in the U.K.
