An odd production?

I don’t know whether my vinyl copy of this album is just badly pressed or if it is just an odd production. The usually quite prominent drums sound very distant as if they have been recorded with one poor quality mic in someone’s shed and dropped back in the mix to try and hide the fact. Vocals and other instruments sound slightly muffled In places and occasionally distorted. Musically it is ok, but not up to the standard of the earlier albums. It’s is also quite a noisy vinyl.
