They're buttons.
1 of 1 found this helpful Each switch is four pole, two throw. Each has twelve contacts, in two rows of six, for a total of eight rows of six pins. The switch contacts take pin 2 between pins 1 and 3, and pin 5 between pins 4 and 6 on each row, or per switch they would be 2 between 1 and 3, 5 between 4 and 6, 8 between 7 and 9, and 11 between 10 and 12.
The mechanism can be "tricked" with careful application of pressure to have 2, 3, or with difficulty all 4 buttons depressed, however, this is an intended defeat of the design by force of the user. When used properly, only one button will be depressed, and depressing one button releases the other three.
Item exactly as pictured, a rarity on eBay for me lately.
I have not yet installed the item as I'm still in the planning phase of the project in which it will be used.

Also Fits Radio Shack Dual Heat 15/30W Iron, cat. no. 64-2055
While not intended for it, these tips do, in fact, fit the Radio Shack Dual Heat 15/30-watt soldering iron that was sold in the late 1990s to early 2000s (catalog number 64-2055 / 6402055). I have not yet had the chance to solder anything but honestly, it's a copper wire, threaded to fit the heating element, and electroplated with nickel -- there's not much that could fail to function as intended.
This is *NOT* an 8-32 thread. It's very close, but not quite there. I have 8-32 brass screws right here and the spacing is in fact ever so slightly different. M4 x 0.7 is the closest metric to a UNC 8-32; perhaps it is this thread.
Regardless, bottom line, even though these are "designed" for the J-025, they fit the Radio Shack 64-2055 as well. The two irons probably have the same heating element.

Photos do not match item received
The alphanumeric labels on the front do not match the ones on the back. Where it goes from "a" to "r" on the rear, the front corresponding labels are "18" to "01" respectively. Along the other edge, the rear labels "24" starting in the same corner as "a" running down to "01" where on the front the corresponding labels are "x" to "a" respectively. Further, the rear labels are pronged on the alternate edge from the ones on the front.
Not all of the holes are drilled/punched cleanly.
Finally, the photo did not show the Chinese glyphs that are actually printed on the items.
None of these are critical issues, all purely cosmetic.
The boards are thin, and I'm not sure how well they will stand up to soldering, but they *feel* decent and smell strongly like a fresh PCB should, so I do have confidence that they will be fine electrically. I'm just disappointed in the cosmetic issues as I do like to share a project and make it look good when it works well.
I cannot speak of the quality as I have yet to actually use them.
I cannot say I recommend them either until I use them but my confidence is high that they will be fine.
