Better than expected
Bought this rod to take to spain but tried it out this week off Seaham pier in a big tide with a significant swell running. The rod casts well and I became more confident with use. The rod is fairly stiff but the tip may be slightly over responsive as difficult to spot bites, bearing in mind I may not have had any bites at all. Also fished with A Greys GS75 and spotted bites from 2 small fish. Overall this is a travel rod and will be ideal for my purposes, the finish quality is good and the price represents fantastic value.

A great time saver
I now prefer ready made rigs and these are keenly priced, making then a necessity for me rather than an pricey option. Fished with this rig (up and over) this week and on a day with few fish about I caught a very small cod and a bass. Spotted both bites, so this provides confidence that this particular rig is effective with potentially different species.

Poor quality
Cheap and poor quality, not a good combination. I was using them to crimp onto Greased Weasel 60lb mono leader (0.7mm). None of the notches in the tool fitted the crimp as all too large so I had to use the jaws at the end of the pliers. This of course means that they are not functioning as crimping pliers as its entirely guesswork as to how hard to squeeze onto the crimp.
