First camcorder experience.
Bought this little camcorder to take to Australia for my daughter's wedding. I liked the idea of the 60 GB hard disc drive storage system, no need for cards, discs or tapes!
I bought a large capacity battery in Melbourne (on offer!) to make sure it didn't run out half-way through the service! In fact, I only recharged it once in the whole five week holiday!!
I found the camera quite simple to use after I'd "played" with it for a while, in fact my 8 year old grandaughter took a fancy to it and became reasonably competent!
Wedding was filmed, also reception. It filmed in bright light and in evening light, indoors and out. Also really lucky to be there to meet and film my first grandson aged five hours old...lovely!
In New Zealand it was equally adaptable and has allowed me to bring back footage of family members who emigrated fifty tears ago. Lovely for my Aunts who haven't seen their brother for many years.
I have managed to download the footage to my dvd copying machine but needed to get help doing so and in copying to dvd...this was due to my own inexperience both with filming and with using my dvd writer! My nephew had no trouble whatsoever sorting it out for me!
I have made discs, for my N Z relatives and of course for my children and grandchildren in Melbourne, easily...now I know what to do!!! I have also been able to give to other interested parties here in Lancashire who weren't able to travel!
I did find when playing back on TV, that at times there was lots of wind noise especially from filming on the beach. However, when looking PROPERLY at the instructions and the on camera menu, there is a "Wind Cut" facility. Pity I didn't read ALL of the instructions first!
The only other problem I had was when using the full zoom. I got lots of shake, even in anti shake mode. However the zoom is very powerful, X35, which magnifies hand movement as well. I solved this by using a small tripod which kept the camera really steady.
My newly married daughter and her husband were so impressed that they sent the money and I bought (and sent to Australia)another JVC Everio for them
All in all, I'm really pleased with my purchase. It's small, light and easy to use. With a "little help from my friends" I've been able to record, share and keep lovely memories for the future.
My next challenge......editing!!! That should be fun!!

Great fun activity book.
It's on the way to Australia.!
I sent by grandaughters a book of masks before Christmas and they loved them.
The quality of this, their second book is excellent. It arrived quickly and was well packed.
The masks are easily detached from the body of the book and the elastic is also included.
The face designs of the masks are clear with well marked features to make them quite simple to colour in.
All in all, good value for money.

Pretty LAULIMA Diary!
This is my third Paperblanks diary.
This one is an 18 month diary and it's great!
Just the right size.
Plenty of space to write in each day, lots of information, eg holidays etc.
A very useful little tool
