Real use experiences with my Rode Compact mic.
The Rode Micro Compact Mic is as good as the on camera mic. I have a Sony A6400 and the on camera mic records very well. So I could say that the Rode Mic is very good. What you are actually getting is the "dead cat" wind muffler which will, in most cases, reflect the wind waap waap for reasonable wind movement.
My first experience in using the Rode was at the Strasburg railroad in Lancaster area of Pennsylvania while making movies of the N&W steam locomotive 611. The day was beautiful, but the wind was at least 10 to 15 miles an hour and the wind noise drowned out the steam engine chuff which usually is loud, but not the whistle so when I edited the movie on Adobe, I had to borrow sound tracks from other shoots to combat the wind noise by replacing sound tracks.
I suspect that excess wind will disrupt even the best and most expensive of mic protectors.

Great knife
Great knife and stays sharp a long time! I have several.
