Little Axe (Aka Skip Mcdonald) - Bought For A Dollar Sold For A Dime [CD]

Best album you have never heard yet!

I own hundreds of blues albums/CDs, and have listened to many hundreds more over a long life. This album is a masterwork from start to finish. It starts out very strong, but unlike most albums it just keeps getting better the deeper you go. Tracks 6, 7, 8, 9, 10...my word these are sublime. The song craft is top notch, from vocals to composition. The vocals are passionate and delivered perfectly, and you can just simply focus on the rhythm baseline and marvel at the craftsmanship. It is also one of those rare albums that gets better the more times that you play it. It is also the best of all of Little Axe's albums (that I have heard so far). The Wolf That House Built is next, but it doesn't come close to this one. I had 'Bought for A Dollar' digitally, and had burned a CD from it. Not sure what happened to the disk, but it was getting played so much that I bought the album to pay respect to the artist. You should to. Well worth your time and dollar.
