Yanmar starter motor
1 of 1 found this helpful This motor looks very well made. When I tried to fit it to my L48 engine, it won't go in. So I removed the motor from my L100 engine to compare. They look the same. The new motor fits the L100, the old motor fits the L48. I am baffled. I get out my vernier calipers , the new motor is 1.5mm longer than the old one. This stops the motor into the engine. There are options: send it back, (too much hassle) grind the engine block to make it fit, (don't like that) grind the shiny bit at the front of the motor, (don't like that either) or , grind a bit of the webs of the front of the motor. The latter looks the best idea, a few minute with a power file cut about 1mm of the webs at the front. These webs don't do much, the motor fits fine, and it work too!
I think the motors are good value, even given the problem I had.

Torch
Great little torch, pocket size but bright. Good value.

Write on tape
This stuff is very good for taping things up, not so good to write on.
