Pop Goes The Easel
With a total of 65 tracks of some memorable music based films of the sixties, this double CD is outstanding value. The full music content of It's Trad Dad, Play it Cool, Just For Fun and Pop Goes the Easel should please anyone with a taste of sixties music, with artists including Billy Fury, Shane Fenton, Helen Shapiro, John Leyton, Chubby Checker, Gene Vincent and many more and the four Anthony Newley tracks from Idle On Parade all on one CD are a real find. Other tracks from TV programmes and even Barbara Windsor with the title song from the Lionel Bart musical Sparrows Can't Sing are well worth hearing again. I'm delighted with this purchase.

Unaccompanied folk singing at its best.
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this album soon after seeing Cockersdale perform live and it is an absolute joy from the first track to the last, with well written songs and ecellent harmonies by the three voices in the group. This is unaccompanied folk singing at its best, which is why I have since I have also bought their other albums

From Tyne To Tweed
I bought this CD on the strength of the From Tees to Tyne album that I already have. For anyone without an affinity to the north east, I suspect this album will have little appeal but to those who have, it will be very enjoyable. Amongst the well established north east musical sources such as Lindisfarne, Alan Price, Alex Glasgow, Brian Johnson and Sting and more traditional offerings by Owen Brannigan and Sheila, Armstrong, are more unexpected contributions from 'actors' Tim Healy, Denise Welsh, Robson Green and Kevin Whately - all good quality songs well sung amongst the 20 tracks of good north east, and mainly Geordie, music. If you like music with a strong north east flavour, you'll like this album - and the From Tees to Tyne album too.
