A brilliant introduction to Californian Flora
California is a very large American state with a huge range of habitats providing homes for over 6000 specie of plants, therefore one cannot expect a handy pocket-size book to cover every Californian plant. Never-the -less the author has made a good attempt to cover the most often found pants giving good coloured pictures along with simple descriptions, habitat, where and when to be seen along with extra notes. The main part of the book is divided into the respective months which can be exceptionally useful but a little annoying at times as plants often spread their flowering time over more than one month. An exceptionally good feature is the section of more than 300 locations arranged by 10 geographical regions highlighting 67 special places giving details of directions, access, walks and predominant flora. As a very keen naturalist (not a naturist as I only get undressed to go to bed at night) this book will give me an indication of where to go, what to see and introduce me to numerous genera which I can track down in the heavy botanical volume of the flora back home or in my hotel room. I expect this book to receive heavy wear on my trip to California, as it will always be ready at hand.

A good product and is holding a good length charge ,
it is just a shame that it is a little bulky therefore my little advent laptop now has a bulge at one end due to the thickness of the battery,never-the-less it seems to be excellent value.
