Squire vintage modified jazz bass 70s
1 of 1 found this helpful I picked this one up after reading reviews on the bass talk forums,, I was led to believe it was different than any other Squires, better pickups better construction better electronics and they were sought after. I was saddened to realize after the postman dropped it at my doorstep and I plugged it into my Markbass amp that it isn't much different than any of the other Squires, bad tone bad electronics, the usual problems that keep me away from all squire basses. Now that being said, the binding and block inlay are impressive as is the finish, it just doesn't make up for the garbage electronics. They're great for a starter bass, but I'd save your $$ and grab an American or at the least a Mexican Fender.

Blue Steel bass strings medium light
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the strings!! I played about a ton of different brands and gauges, The Dean Markley Blue Steel medium light strings are the only strings that give me the most bang for my buck. They hold up well and have killer tone without breaking the bank., you owe it to yourself to give Blue Steels a try.
