    Great gaming addon
Having been used to a Razor Nostromo, I was keen to change in order to match my other Logitech devices. it was difficult to locate one at a retail store, so located one at a Cash Converters. Sadly, they bought a dud so that made me more determined (at least with the dud, I go to sample the 'feel' of the device). In rolled ebay. In comparison with the Nostromo, the keys are a little smaller which meant 2 things, firstly there are more of them, and secondly fat fingers like mine tend to mash more than one at a time. However, with a little practice, it becomes manageable. The software from Logitech allows you to search for games on local drives and will set up a profile for each one it finds. In some cases, it will set up different profiles for playing solo or online. Could be very handy for some games - although I imagine that one could get confused about which mode they are in. Its ability to have multiple profiles for multiple games is a great feature and the ability to change between them with scroll buttons is a blessing. Setting up each key is as simple as you please - especially when one might want to customise default layouts. I also found that the is a forum(?) that allows you to download profiles that others have customised. What is more, you can link a particular profile to an EXE file so that the pad auto-configures when the game is started! Initially I considered that the LCD screen on the device was a bit of a gimmick, but with World of Tanks for example, the team score and battle count down timer was very useful (even though it was on screen, knowing that it was at the tips of my left hand was a comfort.). Its a pity that the device is geared for right handers. (So too are the Razor offerings in this area) So lefty's beware.. the mini joystick and two thumb buttons will just be no good for you.. However the Logitech design across the palm rest and keys IS suitable for lefties - although you will have to get into customisation in a big way as the defaults may not suit. Being hardwired, it responds well and quickly. The software that comes with other Logitech Gaming hardware will 'just work' with it.. No other downloading, updating or configuring required. Top piece of kit, solid manufacture and good materials. Recommend one as it helps you 'square up' your shoulders when you are playing which helps prevent body twisting to get the keyboard/mouse combination working effectively.
