Get what you pay for
0 of 2 found this helpful As you will see from the pictures, the finish on the painting is absolutely shocking. Not one bit has been done nicely, even the transfers Hornby have put on are not great. The worst part by far is the white paint for the light on the top which actually completely ruins the look. They couldn't even paint the black base without getting some on the blue. My 5 year old can paint between lines better than whoever they got to do this.
If I had to say something nice then I would say that the mold and weight is quite nice, but not enough to make this overall good enough.
Buy the Bachmann or Peco one.

Great finish
I was nervous about buying this as I am far from an experienced modeller, but I read some reviews and liked the look of this one.
The pre coloured parts look lovely, and you can choose different ways of making this to suit how you want it to look.
It was fairly easy to assemble without being boring by being too easy, although I would definitely recommend ensuring you have a good sharp modelling knife. I made the whole thing using the Revell contacta glue which worked a treat, even on the clear plastic.
I'm really happy with the finish of this, and it would look great on my layout as it is, but my plan is to add some transfers to it first.
Would highly recommend, nice to be buying locally made too.
