New to DSLR cameras and all the options
1 of 1 found this helpful I am extremely satisfied with this camera. It is wonderfully crafted and solidly built. I have had a chance to look at an old Nikon D70 and a new Nikon D5000 and the D90 has all the features I could ever want. With other cameras I looked at there was always an option not there that I was looking for. I understand that this allowed the lower grade cameras to be priced lower, but I wanted a good camera that is user friendly to take pictures of my children. I am not a professional photographer. The D90 far surpasses my skill level and I am glad I didn't settle for a lesser model. As always before you purchase anything do your research.

Good DSLR for the price
This is a great entry level DSLR. In my opinion much better than the Nikon D3000. The LCD screen pivots and flips around allowing the user to position the screen at odd angles, this is especially helpfull during family self portraits. Although the D5000 does not have some of the other options on the higher priced higher models it certainly gets the job done.
