Keep a sponge handy to mop the river of blood off the TV, after the movie is completed.
This special film encapsulates some of the higher qualities of human emotion. Far surpassing modern rubbish, the viewer will be entertained and impressed by the rock solid acting, the quality outdoor locations, the meaningful motivation and careful presentation of honorable concepts including love, loyalty, honor, teamwork, patriotism and bravery. It teaches us all many things including a valuable lesson about losing. This film is, in my opinion. more relevant now in today's troubled world than when it was originally published. By adding this important film to your personal library, you will be rewarded both in the historically accurate content and in a rousing and educational platform, that few other films could ever hope to compete with - and better. Richard Egan shines as the believable leader, Leonidas. One can almost feel the ground shaking, under the thundering hooves of the approaching armies. Highly recommended. This leaves later imitations completely in the cold and in the dust. A+

If you love Hornby, this reference text must be added to your library.
This informative book explains the entire history of the Hornby Gauge O System. Comprehensive and authoritative, lavishly illustrated it successfully tackles this large, diverse and sometimes (through it's own admission) untraceable history. The text is sprinkled with a witty humour and the reader is drawn deeper into the topic. Curious at first about Hornby objects in ones own collection, this volume is very hard to put down. Soon the reader is examining engineering drawings, touching the lives of individual employees and balancing the high and low points of the corporate entity during periods of both peace and wartime. Invaluable as a master reference, the reader gains insight into other items that they must endeavor to obtain! As with all superior texts, it is easy to quickly find that special information. The chapter layout is a masterstroke and your model railway will surely grow after this text is added to your library.

Prepare for a cracking good read. My eyes ache, but I read on ...
3 of 3 found this helpful If the answers to questions about the greater reality, and detailed expansions of some sections of the bible have lingered in your mind, then "The Urantia Book" has the capacity to answer those questions. It is at times a complex and voluminous read, but like reading the bible, if taken in small increments, a great deal of information can be learned from this text. At 196 chapters covered in 2097 pages, I plan to read this in about 4 months. You can download the pdf file and the spoken version freely. It also pays to have your bible, missal and standard prayer book with psalms handy, to keep mental cross referencing, to human mind capabilities within reasonable bounds. The index is comprehensive, being covered in detail in 58 pages. The book size is comfortable and this version, very reasonably priced, being a hardcover issue. Delivery via overseas agent was very quick indeed.
I made a decision to buy this book after skim reading the first 400 pages. You will be drawn into the unfolding story. Much of it covers concepts that you may have formatively derived in a skeletal plan and much new material that you could not have imagined, soon develops.
Overall it is spellbinding and verges on overwhelming the senses.
Many books sit on the bookshelf partially read, forever.
This book has the potential to fire the mind and raise your awareness of large scale concepts significantly. You will be enriched and find time well spent reading "The Urantia Book". 10 out of 10.
