    A Good Buy!
I bought the DXG-202V to replace my older DXG-202V Camcorder which went kaput after over 7 years of providing good photos and videos with sound. As a ballroom dance teacher, I used the camcorder as a training tool for my students and myself. The camcorder went dead because I mistakenly left it on top of a boxed speaker and the magnetized speaker had a deadly effect on the DXG-202V camcorder. My new DXG-202V camcorder works just as good as the old one. It's compact and light and works with two AA batteries that can be replaced without connecting to a charging device. The camcorder has many options to program the video, and still photos. And the audio picks up very good with the video. The flash is very strong; so be sure that you are at least 4 feet away from the object or person. Otherwise the photo will look washout. For a compact camcorder with all the features that's mentioned in the specs, and used properly, the DXG-202V camcorder is a good buy.

    A Bad Buy!
I bought this camera because of the description of the product and the price. Lo and behold! The camera does not have a flash capability, nor a microphone, nor the ability to take video on the go (unless it is hooked on to a PC as a Web Cam). Now those features are listed as specs on the product description page. The LCD screen is not bright, so whether indoors or outdoors, the images are difficult to see. I couldn't find anything that I like about the camera. However the software is the best thing about the package.

    Bad, Bad Buy!
First of all the DV 5300 eats batteries like its going out of style. Better carry a bag full of batteries if you plan to use it on a trip. Photos does not come out bright even with the flash strobe on. The photos and video loses clarity when using the zoom feature beyond 2X. Aiptek came out with some good pocket cameras with flash strobe in the past. Compared to the DV5100 and DV5700 the DV5300 is a bad, bad buy.
