Probably won't last 35 years
2 of 2 found this helpful I hated giving up my Cusinart that was at least 35 years old, but the cost of replacing all the finally broken acrylic work bowl components didn't seem worth it considering the risk that the motor would then finally expire, so I bought this new one as much like the old one as I could find. Trouble is, the little white plastic piece inside the locking mechanism in the lid looks like planned obsolescence. I'm wondering just how long it will last before breaking. It is under stress each time the lid is closed and we all know about "little plastic pieces" right? I'd feel better if they actually included at least 6 replacements with a new machine. Anyway, I'll cross my fingers and hope I'm wrong. Otherwise, I assume I'll like this machine just fine.
