The Quiet Man a wonderful gift for a special man
First of all, this is one of the feel-good movies of all time. One of John Wayne's best ever, especially since it is a departure from the ordinary cowboy flicks he specialized in. Light-hearted at times, yet not casual, it is a love story and a character study. Maureen O'Hara and the supporting cast make a well-rounded and colorful picture of the sleepy Irish village. I purchased this as a gift for an older friend who had recently visited the location of the movie, and had even had the opportunity to play the part of the priest in a tourist-cast version of the movie. He was surprised and more than pleased to recieve the movie. I am sure it will be watched and enjoyed many times.
