Small yet strong
I needed some joints to modify the track rod on an Austin 7 special. I looked at Rose joints with rather clumsy rubber boots but then I came across these. They are great and a much better alternative for my application. Available in a range of sizes too.

Almost perfect
Looks good and works well but it does have one shortcoming. The column is fixed to the base with a single bolt which screws into a nut welded to a plate which spans the inside of the column. This plate is so thin that it bends when the screw is tightened. Wind buffeting the parasol shakes the column causing the plate to bend more, so the column gradually loosens over time.
Otherwise OK.

Good product
Quality product, sturdily built and with screw clamp terminals. An ideal replacement for the old Lucas switch on pre and post war cars.
