Great lens,solid feel,with excellent sharpness.
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a beautiful lens,it delivers very sharp photographs and is well made.I have tested the new version as well and can see no difference in the quality between them at all,apart from the new version is lighter and made of plastic.
I am glad that I got the older version and saved about £200 plus.

Nikon D3X
5 of 5 found this helpful I bought one of these for Wildlife Photography and am very pleased with it, it is very robust and image quality is first class. Also the battery lasts a long time as well. The only downside is the weight, its not very light, but at the end of the day it is mounted on my tripod when using it with my 500mm lens. The Nikon D3X is a good buy and I am very pleased with it.

Beautiful Black and White images of life in The Hebrides.
This is a beautiful book,full of excellent Black and White Photographs of The Hebridean way of life,i have 2 other books by Iain McGowan and i can recommend them as well.Iain is a very good photographer, i love sitting at home on a wet day and reading his books.
