400 ft is a joke

It says up to 400 ft. I can see the thing from my kitchen window and it still won't go off. I've tried new batteries and still nothing. I put tape over the sensor and painted the rest to camouflage it is the only reason I haven't sent it back. Figure since I painted it I'll have to eat it. And it doesn't taste good! !!!
