What price reliability
When it comes to reliability..it is generally accepted that the more solid the unit the better it will serve you..In this case The Tamro 18-200mm lens is a very good deal with the exception of the plastic mounting. I woud have willing paid the exra to have a metal mount as we all know that a telephoto lens when mounted on a camera exerts a lot of pressure on the connecting mount.
No matter how careful we are the lens is often subjected to a few bumps along the way.
Having been in the fatique analysis business for many years...you cannot beat a metal to metal contact surface for the added strength. Having stated that
at the price I paid for this lens I accept its life span miight be shorter but most certainly I will pay a lot more attenton to my handling when mounted.
