The NVG2 7 iron I have is the best club in my bag!!
6 of 6 found this helpful Had a set of MacGregor M455's and started looking for another set of clubs. I decided to purchase single clubs on Ebay and try them out on the course a few times before I bought a whole set. I played each of the new Taylormade R7's, also the Tour Edge Tour clubs which are fabulous. I also somehow got my hands on an NVG2 7 iron with the graphite shaft. It's awesome. I have full control over distance and direction with this club. The ball just jumps off the face with a very pleasing sound. It's great around the greens for bump and runs. This club almost hits the ball by itself. . . as by the way do the Tour Edge Tour clubs.

Great Scoring Club
The extra head weight of this club makes pitching and chipping from 30 yrds in a breeze. As it's winter, I've only had the opportunity to play 3 rounds with it. I chipped in once. And got up and down numerous times from situations that were pretty dicey. I'm probable going to pick up the 37 degree version.

Callaway X-18 Not Up to Snuff
1 of 5 found this helpful I've been buying single clubs lately so I can take them out to the driving range and to the course at my leisure. When you try a club at your local pro shop you get to hit a few balls, often times into a net. This doesn't really give you the kind of information you need when considering spending 500+ for a set of clubs.
The X-18 was the most disappointing club I've tried so far. Didn't like how it looked on set-up and I really had a lot of trouble hitting it straight.
This is not for a mid to high handicapper, or a senior, or a player with a slow swing speed. I'd say the X-18's would work best for the more experienced player, one who knows how to work the ball. As this is not a forgiving club.
