For near field speaker, most we think about jbl lsr 3 series and the yamaha hs's..Well, of cause both are good, and the yamaha hs's is more balanced. But jbl lsr 3 is very good at imagining.
A good DAC will let both speaker hear different, studio monitor can accurate reproduction the quality of sound.
Last, money range, What I can say is, jbl lsr 3 series not the best choice for your little room, because it bigger then you think. At this price range, I would say jbl 3 is the best. Remember, don't forget the sub. Buy the sub, place at the center, make image and sound like live.
