Best of its genre
I came to LOD late in the day, having never seen it before the recent series, which I found gripping. Series 1-3 are just as good and I neglected stuff just to get my fix. As well as the great story lines and writing, what appealed to me most was that the characters are so rounded, not cardboard cutouts - nobody is wholly good or bad. The acting is superb. No Woodentops School of Acting actors here. Along with Broadchurch, though quite different, this is the best of thriller TV.

Best delicate/woolly wash
It's hard to believe that this works with absolute minimum agitation and no rinsing, but it does and leaves woollies beautifully soft without using conditioner.
It seems expensive at first sight, but you use only a little and you don't have the conditioner to pay for. I'm now on my third bottle and recommend wherever I go. Others have been converted.
