Great box set, but missing 5 of the original episodes
I got this UK box set for a bargain price (£7 brand new incl. P&P) - picture quality, sound and the episodes themselves are all excellent. There are a few extras too, including a 'making-of' that shows the huge amount of effort put into each episode, including input from Rowan Atkinson himself!
However, potential buyers should know that it only includes 47 of the 52 original episodes. This is because 5 episodes were given slightly higher BBFC ratings as they contain very slightly more risqué scenes, so have instead been added as bonuses to the live-action Mr Bean DVDs.
Apart from that, the episodes themselves are excellent. What no-one seems to have said yet is that the reason why Mr Bean is so appealing to kids is that he is himself a kid trying to live in an adult world - sometimes he succeeds, sometimes he doesn't, but his adventures are always very enjoyable (for kids of all ages!)
In short, this box set comes highly recommended, and should be a lot cheaper than buying the individual series on separate DVDs.

This 1993 Director's Cut is fab!
This is a 10-DVD set of the extremely rare 1993 Director's Cut of the Beatles Anthology documentary series, consisting of 8 DVDs (60-90 mins each) of the entire series plus 2 DVDs of special features (EPKs (electronic press kits), ads etc.). It's an excellent documentary, and these DVDs (which you get without any packaging or booklet, but who's complaining) are very good - the picture quality is excellent (given the quality of the footage), and all the Beatles are in scintillating form when it comes to reminiscing. It's a different version from the officially released documentary, this Director's Cut containing too much early live footage for my liking (although it did show what a good live band they were) but finishes with the Let It Be film/album/rooftop concert, so contains nothing at all about the final album they recorded, Abbey Road. Still gets 10 out of 10 from me, though, and at about half the price of the official set, it's a snip. Also contains just about the full videos of Paperback Writer, Rain, Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields Forever and Lady Madonna (and Free as a Bird)
