After long comparison/search, glad that I bought this model.
Although my TOSHIBA RD97DT recorder has given excellent service for four years, the handset broke down after two. Cost over £30 for replacement which again broke down. Silver Crest Universal (£8.99)now covers MOST functions, but not all, so spent lots of time scouring internet for HDD/DVD RECORDER replacement - avoiding Toshiba. Found that this machine seemed to have least complaints and best specs for me. After 6 weeks daily use am very happy with it. Excellent quality recordings - Quiet - Very pleased with ability to 'one-click jump past' adverts accurately on playback of most recordings - no disturbance when turning itself on to update program listings - latter not really a problem with 'adverts' section onscreen if using the optional 2nd view setting - good idea with recordings of a series to show them all under one title (a click opens them all up) instead of separately, mixed with other titles in date order - manual no real problem, as very few folk will actually need the myriad functions described in it's 100 pages, and the setup was very user-friendly. Have not yet needed to copy from HDD to a DVD disc, but instructions appear straightforward. If it, and its handset, last another four years I'll be VERY happy with this purchase so, with crossed fingers, I give it 5 stars !

So tiny, it's ridiculous.
1 of 1 found this helpful WORKS FINE, AND I STILL CAN BARELY BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SO MUCH STORAGE ON THIS DEVICE WHICH IS SMALLER THAN MY THUMBNAIL.

Arrived promptly. Easy fitting.
Arrived promptly, well packed in fitted cardboard book/sleeve. Easy to fit, and when slight air bubble could not be easily 'wrorked away', easy to peel back and then reseal perfectly. Does not affect my fitted case as itis very thin.
