A fantastic addition to the tool box
I have recently purchased the Trix wheel cleaner, in fact I bought two as they clip together for servicing longer locomotives.
I found it easy to use as it sits directly on the rails to draw power. It can be flipped over to clean the rails too.
Simply place on the rails, turn the power on then place the locomotive pick up wheels on the brushes. As the wheels rotate, the brushes clean them thoroughly. This has a great effect on the smooth running of locomotives especially short wheelbase 040s etc.
The wheel cleaner can be used on both DC & DCC
All in all, this is a great piece of kit and will enhance the running and servicing of your locomotives for many years

Reasonable but not perfect
This is the newly retooled rendition of the class 45/0 commonly found across the country on a variety of mixed traffic.
Unfortunately, the retooling hasn't seen full improvements over pervious renditions and several mistakes have been replicated. The cab is poor in the level of detail, the engine hatches retain the incorrect handles, the can handrails are incorrect and the cooling fan is still way too small. Improvements include correct nose grilles, proper nose hand rails, more realistic blanks on the boiler footholds and improved crystal clear glazing.
Sadly, this eagerly awaited and popular model hasn't seen the level of improvement the class 24 has seen which is a real missed opportunity. Hopefully, Bachmann will take onboard the feedback and produce a stunning model in the future... I hope so.
As for running, the model performs very well. This could have been further improved if the six main axels were driven and had pick ups as they did with the class 40.
I can't help but think these shortfalls were due to the rush to beat Heljan to the announced realease of their range of 45s the following day.
