Super quality ebike.
This just about the top of the range of this series of ebikes from Merida. All the components are excelent. I am very impressed by the Shimano Deore XT 11 sp. gears. Tha Shimano STEPS drive system seems to respond in a very sensitive way , and I think that I am now sudenly 25 years younger. I was able to easily climb a one in four secton of hill near me. I find the claimed range is less than I achieve. Claimed range 57 miles ,I get between 55 and 90 miles. The only downside of this bike has been the spokes. I had two front and four rear spokes break on the fourth ride. I had the wheels rebuilt with better spokes and have had no problem since. I am VERY pleased with this bike.

Shimano Steps Bike Battery.
This is a typical Shimano product . Well designed and reasonably robust.
I have found that its capacity is a bit limited. I now have a second unit which I carry on longer or more challenging cycle runs. ( more than 4000 feet of climb or runs longer than 60 miles.)
The spare , although heavy is easily carried in my pannier bag. ( wrapped in a small towel to give it a bit of protection.)
The original battery which has covered 3500 miles so far shows no real sign of loosing its capacity.
I am now able to make better use of the battery by running it down to around 10% remaining charge then swapping the full battery onto the bike , whilst I am out. This means that I don't have to recharge an only partly used unit each time I go out on a cycle run.
Shimano now produce a larger capacity battery ( 25% more ) , which seems to me to be a great improvement.

Compact GPS mount for cycles
Easy to use GPS mount to fit onto bike handlebars. The swivel is useful to position the GPS at the best position , BUT YOU THEN HAVE TO GLUE IT IN THAT POSITION . This is actually no real problem , but it would be better if the ball joint was stiffer to save having to glue it . I have two of these units and they are a budget choice , and are lightweight. Remember to use the lanyard to secure the GPS to the handlebars as a back up. Heavier and more solid units are five times as much , so I do recommend this holder.
