About

Since 2013 Ackworth Community Library has been run as a Charitable Trust using grants, donations and volunteers to provide our services to our local area. We offer book loans, public computer use, printing and photocopying. Our weekly storytimes and children's activities and our school holiday projects are popular. Local schools visit regularly and our monthly book club is always full. Our Friday coffee mornings provide opportunities for people to socialise and enjoy the warm and welcoming atmosphere as well as the affordable refreshments. We were a warm space during the winter months when the community could sit with a free warm drink and read a newspaper or book, or help complete the community jig saw. We hold regular information sessions hosted by our local PCSOs and Citizens Advice and evening events involving local writers, adult craft classes. We are keen to keep growing and developing as a vital community hub by accessing grants, fundraising and growing our sponsorship scheme.
