100 CLEAR 11 x 14 POLY BAGS 2 MIL PLASTIC FLAT OPEN TOP

    Great poly bags.
The large size can accommodate many sizes. So if you don't care about tight fits these are great. The gauge of plastic is great too, not too thin.

The missing info of Spenceville, Nevada County, Calif.
Since the first printing came out I have been disappointed. If you look at page 28 showing the division of the two counties and you read the book you will see that the Nevada county side of Spenceville Road going toward Penn Valley and the Pittman Rd.,Pittman family is mentioned. The mostly blank space of the rest of Nevada county is not mentioned even though many family members of original Spenceville homesteaders were not hard to find at that time but were not sought out for info or photos for this book. This issue has always baffled me since I am a member of one of those families. Some of those families are: Church, Nichols, Hunt, Jones, Eichoff, and Shetterly. When the government took the land away from the homesteaders forcing them to move out they were told that if ever/when ever the gov. decided the taken land was no longer needed and was deemed surplus the original families would have first choice at getting it back. This was not put in writing and was not how the story went. It went out to public auction, forcing any of those families interested in getting their land back to bid against the general public, some of which had 'deep pockets'. I am only aware of my family being successful in getting back their original land and we were only able to get half of it back, bidding against 'deep pockets'. Most, but not all of those original homesteaders are gone now but could have been a valuable asset to the writing of this book. I bought this book on Ebay because it is not easy to find and because the price was cheap.
The XIT Ranch of Texas and the Early Days of the Llano Estacado (The Western Fro

A great book on the American West.
This book was written in the 1920s by a man who knew some of the cowboys who worked for the 3 million acre XIT ranch. It's written in a style that's easy to read and sheds insight into what it was like to work and drive cattle in the period of American history when the open ranges were becoming a thing of the past. The stories involving the development of the ranch, the men's respect and love of their horses and their knowledge of the cattle they ran was fascinating. It's one of the best and most factual books I've read on the old west. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
