Definitely beat Verizon's replacement offer
After our phone decided to try swimming (utter failure - it drowned), we checked with Verizon for a repair or replacement. After hearing their price I decided it might be worth my while to seek alternatives... It sounds a bit odd for a phone to come sans battery & back cover, but in our situation this made no difference as both parts survived the swim. The important points were: 1) Had to be a Verizion phone, as Verizon will only port in specific smartphones; 2) Had to have a clean EIN, so local Verizon would have no reason to refuse activation. Both points were met, so we picked up the whole phone for less than a DIY replacement screen - and the quality was actually like-new.

If ever there was a well-chosen name...
... it is Case Logic. Someone obviously devoted some serious thought to what this case was likely to contain, and what would be needed to transport those contents safely. The padding and reinforcement is neither excessive nor inadequate; it is appropriate for transporting computers, in the effective places, and is not removable. The stitching does not give way or gradually unravel. The zippers do not fail. The fabric does not come out of the seams because of sloppy manufacturing. In short, this is a well-designed, carefully manufactured, fairly priced product – and it always is. I have never had to replace a Case Logic; most of the time they out-last the devices they carry, and this one looks like it will get a new device to carry once the one inside it wears out.

Excellent machine, expert reconditioning - I want another one!
This is a full-powered laptop masquerading as a mini - it is small, light, thin, and as full-featured as its larger cousins. This was purchased for conversion to a dual-boot with the included Windows 8.1 to be accompanied by Linux Mint 17.1; the system gracefully accepted both systems, in a by-the-numbers standard conversion.
Although slightly smaller than a standard laptop, the screen is extremely clear and easy to read. The touch-pad is overly sensitive for my taste, but was easy to turn off in favor of a wireless mouse. The keyboard is light-duty with full-sized keys, and the layout is normal; for a heavy touch or extensive data-entry or typing an external keyboard would be a good accessory, but for day-to-day normal use it is quite serviceable.
The reconditioning & re-certification work was exceptional - the unit I received was indistinguishable from new, from the uniform feel of each key on down to the presence of the various recovery partitions. The only challenge I encountered was rounding up adequate technical documentation to plan the installation of the second OS, but this speaks to the manufacturer's online support rather than to the computer itself. Bottom-line: I would pick up another of these in a heartbeat - it is a top-quality re-certified mini, well worth the price we paid.
