Harvey Keitel at his best

Interesting film about the investigation into the conductor Furtwängler after the second world war for collaboration. Harvey Keitel at his best as the American officer leading the investigation.

Excellent recording

Excellent recording by Victoria de los Angeles. Makes an interesting comparison to the later cycle recorded by Kiri Te Kanawa.

Still great political movies (original 5 films)

I hadn't watched the original Planet of the Apes series for over 30 years and had forgotten in essence how political they are. Charlton Heston ranting on about the mess men had made of the world, the extreme genocidal racism between man and ape and ape and man, a feminist character in Zira, etc. Still a message for today. View it with an eye on 1960s Mutually Assured Destruction and the race riots in the US.
