Versatile wired door contact
Very good quality with wide operating range (break to make). Ideal for wooden outbuildings where doors and/or frames may move slightly with changing seasons and humidity.

Myth or magic?
I live in a hard water area and have installed similar units in a number of properties over the years. I've no idea how they work, and there's probably a good helping of witchcraft involved. I'm sure that many people will say it's a waste of money, but from my point of view they do seem to help. (For example, one property was a 12-room guest house - after about a month it was no longer necessary to go round descaling the taps and shower heads.) Inexpensive, very quick and easy to fit, with no ongoing maintenance costs. Time will tell, but if it works like others in the past then I'll be well pleased.
