A very fitting description of the most critical contemporary issue facing the world
This is an account for the history books, an archetype of the fundamentals of our relationship with the wildlands upon which civilization is based. Back in the days when there was still genuine environmental activism, and when advocacy organizations stayed true to their missions, this film evokes the spirit of fighting for preserving what was once more commonplace, bringing down to earth the issues at hand to a personal level, unconfounded by the myriad topics one must navigate in today's political world. The footage serves as a valuable archive, capturing what has largely disappeared from today's scene, documenting what has been lost, and showing how different the environment is today. If we were not in possession of such evidence, we would have no standard of reference to which our current scenario could be compared, and thus less motivation for reforming or improving our practices, or for attributing causes driving our present day crises. This film should be brought back and soberly examined―shown in schools and media―as it reveals what we are losing, what we are doing, who we are as a species, and where we are going, and what needs achieving if anything is to be reversed.

A great lesson in American civics
The Big Buy; Tom Delay's Stolen Congress is a must-see documentary belonging in every collection of the history of American democracy. It should be shown in schools and universities everywhere. It is among the most edifying accounts examining the role of money in the shaping of public policy and economics and what happens when big bucks come up against the rule of American law. Seen in conjunction with a few other good films, the viewer gains consummate insight into the machinations of wealth, power, and the American political system.
