I am very impressed with this pedal. I was not expecting it to sound as good as it does. Coming through the amp's speaker it has a tendency to sound very thin, however when played through the amp's DI output into a computer or through headphones it sounds REALLY good. It's very easy to get something that sounds like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath just by playing around with the settings for a half hour or so. It's also pretty well built compared to other cheap pedals I have, it's made of metal. Maybe not the best pedal for a live performance but definitely worthwhile for recording or playing at home.

Good For Picking/Chords on a Bass Guitar
I bought this for use with a bass guitar.
Pros: Inexpensive, a nice range of adjustments you can make for dialing in a tone. It sounds really great when using a pick or when playing chords. It's a usable pedal for both guitar and bass.
Cons: It has the plastic hinges and push pins that I don't like. When adjusting the gain it very quickly becomes too much gain for anything practical other than trying to make an effect. It can be difficult to dial in a good tone for fingerstyle, I find that I have to keep the gain way down and boost the treble to get a nice clear sound. Though it's something I enjoy playing around with and for $23 it's worth it even if I only get one sound out of it that I like.

Three 3 Jazz Style KNOBEEZ MADE IN USA Rubber Guitar Knobs and Bass Knobs Black

Simple, effective, good.
I use these for all my project bass guitars. They're extremely easy to attach and will fit any potentiometer I've tried. They also don't slip, feel more comfortable than plastic knobs, can be adjusted accurately, and won't tarnish or damage your pots in any way.
