Yakima Landing Pad #2
the Yakima Landing Pads #2 are the link between specific vehicles and the towers and bars. The #2 selection fit my 1999 and 2001 Jeep Cherokees with factory roof rack side rails (removed the stock crossbars). Easy installation and very solid. Installed the Yakima Skyline towers with 70" Jetstream black bars.....overhang the stock rails about 12" each side to carry two kayaks with total 60" beam widths. Installed two pairs of the landing pads on each Jeep. Skyline towers with bars attached, easily swap from one Jeep to other.....one is city Pavement Princess; other a country Working Girl. Landing Pads #2 with Skyline towers and Jetstream bars are probably high enough that the stock crossbars could be left on even with the Yakima setup for extra flexibility. Very pleased with solid new rack system. Use NRS neoprene crossbar pads to protect new bars and kayaks. Would buy again and recommend to friends.
