A superb "standard" lens.
2 of 2 found this helpful This lens is to APS-C format cameras what the old 50mm lens was to 35mm cameras: a "standard" lens. Its focal length on my Nikon D200 is actually about 52.5mm. The lens is built to the usual high standards of Nikon, and is optically excellent. The fast maximum aperture of f1.8 allows for a very shallow depth of field if desired, and is particularly useful in low light where flash is inappropriate.

Very appealing
We had this book for our children, and we loved it too. Interesting fact: When it was released during the civil rights movement in the USA, it was banned in some states because it showed a WHITE rabbit marrying a BLACK rabbit.

Amazing Features for the price.
9 of 9 found this helpful This watch is everything I hoped it would be. Look what you get: a tried and tested ultra reliable in-house movement, (hacking and hand windable) nice display back so you can admire it, and a case to die for. The case is a mixture of brushed and polished steel, with the brushed sections surrounding the dial and covering the strap lugs. These are not applied sections, but sculpted into the steel of the case. The deep black dial and applied batons are beautiful, and the date is tastefully framed in steel. The sword-shaped hands, and the second hand with an open loop at its base are the final touch. The glass is sapphire, and the crown bears the Seiko "S", which looks somewhat snake-like. The oyster style bracelet is comfortable, though if you have to re-size it yourself, be aware that the link-pins have a tiny steel shim at either end which falls off when you remove the pins. They are about 1mm wide and maybe 3mm in length, so be careful to catch them when you take out a pin. If someone told me this was a Grand Seiko, I would believe them. Firms like Rolex could learn a lot in terms of case-design from this watch. I've owned two Rolex models, and this watch is more satisfying to look at than either of them. If you like mechanical watches with a classic look, buy one. You won't be disappointed.
