Clarence Sale (Barker) is a Bumbling Short sighted removals man who meets Ladies maid Jane Travers (Josephine Tewson)
After a short courtship and quick proposal Jane suggests a trial relationship with no hanky-panky.
The couple move to the country cottage of Traver' s late Aunt, in an attempt at domestic bliss.
Clarence struggles to find and keep a job whilst Jane finds in more difficult to keep Clarence on his side of the bed.
