Good starter set of wood tuurning chisels
1 of 1 found this helpful These chisels are solid and fitted with well finished beach handles clamped with brass ferules. The style is basic but good as a starter set and great value - the blades have been factory shaped but need polishing the bevel before use. They are stamped High Speed Steel and the hardness when sharpening is consistent with that. I haven't used them enough yet to comment on how well they hold an edge. Also my lathe is a pole lathe so these will not be subjected to the kind of forces generated when turning hardwood on a powered lathe. However, the metal is thick suggesting it should be able to take considerable force and has been oiled before packing so still shiny from the factory. Comes in a nice box.

An excellent little saw
This saw leaves the narrowest kerf I've seen and goes through hard or soft wood like a knife through butter. It takes a little practice to learn how to use it to get the best results - it works best when operated like a bread-knife with very little downward pressure.
