Once it's working, it works forever.
If you like to have an office setup, but also need to take your laptop with you for work, this product is a must. While at home, I can have my external display to enhance efficiency, my mouse, backup drives, etc without having to manually plug them in. I can grab my laptop and go at a moment's notice, knowing it's charged, and I don't even have to worry about unplugging the power cord.
The one thing I do have to list as a negative would be the part of the dock I love. I love having all of the USB ports, but at first, my computer didn't like any of the ports on the dock. My mouse, 10-key, and external drives didn't function properly. It took some troubleshooting to get the touchscreen working again. After I went through all of that, it's working like a charm again.
