the filter idea doesn't do anything

the fryer works well but the filter's mesh seems to be to large to retain the bits thus ending up at the bottom of the pan and not in the filter, shame there's not a pouring lip as the oil ends up down the outside of the fryer a bit of a mess when cleaning. If I was buying another one I would buy the non filter fryer and save about £20.
