A tale of soul and sword eternally told
Rather than being another 3D fighter from Namco who brought the excellent Tekken series to the PS1, Soulblade is a completely different animal it’s main draw is the inclusion of weapons.
However the game is deeper than that as well as the usual Arcade mode, VS, Survival and time modes Soulblade boasts the excellent Edge Master mode a story heavy challenge mode that changes the rules of victory from match to match some rounds your health gradually drops to hurry you to the win another ask you only use throws to defeat your enemy. All this is displayed in a book for the story and a map for navigation, as opponents are spread out over the world. Each victory gains you new weapons with different stats some more powerful others weaker but better for speed. The great thing is once obtained these different weapons can be used in the other modes mentioned earlier.
Arcade mode also has a new trick the characters have interactive endings that can be good or bad depending on how the player interacts at the right moment (emphasised by the cinematic border opening up to signify an interactive moment).
The soundtrack is also amazing the opening cinematic is memorable and each segment tells its own mini movie but the theme song The edge of soul really steals the show and once heard is never forgotten. The level music is also great particularly Future Dancing a personal favourite.
Levels allow you full freedom around each part and you can actually win a match by simply knocking your opponent off of the edge (a lot of edges in this game the Japanese and American release was called Souledge, changed in Europe to Soulblade due to copyright).
A great PS1 title and if you are a PS1 collector this must be in your collection with the aforementioned Tekken and Time Crisis series’ both from Namco as well.

Good gloves poor fit
I took a chance for my 4 yr old. The gloves were good for the width of his hands but the fingers were too long packaging said 8 yr old but Description says “Child”. So you don’t know the age until you buy the product.

Great product, sellers packaging needs to be more padded.
Packaging was a little thin and one of the plugs boxes was squashed, luckily Champion had put a plastic cap on the end which took the impact and saved the plug. Plugs went in easy and instantly the car felt more responsive. Really happy with this product.
